Cabinet Committees Named

The Full Story

The second meeting of the Cabinet of the new administration took place at Jamaica House on (September 24).
Among the major considerations, the Cabinet named the Cabinet Committees to undertake the examination of certain issues prior to their consideration and decision by the full Cabinet.
The Cabinet also discussed the elements of the Privatization Framework for the Sugar Cane Industry currently owned by the Government and received Briefs on the situation regarding supplies of rice, cement and the abolition of tuition fees at the Secondary level.
The Cabinet also approved the National Clean-up-Project set for September 29 and 30, 2007.
The Hon. Olivia Grange, Minister of Information will host the customary Post Cabinet Press Briefing on Tuesday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m. She will be joined for the briefing by the Hon. Karl Samuda, Minister of Industry, Commerce & Investment; Hon. Carlton Davis, Cabinet Secretary; and the Co-coordinators of the National Clean-up Project, the Hon. Kingsley Thomas and Mr. Michael Ammar.
