Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Hon. Olivia Grange, has advised that several adjustments will be made to the schedule of activities for Emancipation and Independence due to the impending inclement weather that is expected to affect the island, starting this evening.
- The Independence Village at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre will be closed today, Monday, August 1, at 6 p.m. until further notice.
- The Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Coronation scheduled for 8 o’clock tonight (August 1) will be postponed until further notice.
- The ‘Aunty Roachy’ Festival and the Fashion Greets Music Show scheduled for Tuesday, August 2, will be postponed until further notice.
- The Festival Bandwagon and other planned activities across the island organized by the JCDC, scheduled for August 1 and 2, will be postponed until further notice.
The tickets for the aforementioned events, where applicable, will remain valid for the new dates to be announced.
