$319 Million to Purchase Vehicles for JFB

The Government has set aside $319.8 million for the acquisition of vehicles for the Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB).

This is contained in the 2016/17 Estimates of Expenditure, now before the House of Representatives.

The allocation will allow the Jamaica Fire Brigade to complete the purchase of mobile units, for which the procurement process commenced in the 2015/16 financial year.

The units include: one fire boat; two water tankers; and two fire trucks with pumpers.

The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development.
